Don't allow a POD to be created if it contains undefined variables.
Currently, a POD can be created that contains Tags which refer to variables defined in other Tags not included in the POD. Then those Tags fail when the POD is used in another template. Request that when a POD is saved, Report Designer checks whether there are undefined variables in any Tag, and if so, rejects saving the POD with a message like "POD contains undefined variables."

1 voteHello David,
We have reviewed this idea internally but unfortunately it has not been accepted. Since the idea has not received sufficient votes since it was entered and also since we have some other tools in the product to verify template quality we will not be working on this. Thank you for your suggestion, and please enter any other ideas you have to improve the product.
Thank you.

formatting to respected currency (not all that are available as basic excel formats are available in windward)
we do business in 3 region and use different mode of currency payments such as USD, GBP, EUR and AED.
when building templates with relevant information that goes to finance teams for analysis i used windward(autotag) in excel linked to my SQL database. i have to created templates that are currency specific i.e. if the product was sold in GBP i have to produce all sales and expenditures towards the product in their respected GBP currency. (e.g. £1,100.56)
i have noticed that AED is not a current format that windward allows me to convert the figure too. however this feature…

Make image cropping work with PDF generation
When adding an image to a Word document you can select a few cropping options under picture tools / format ->crop. You can choose whether to fill or fit the image inside the allocated space. This works fine when generating to docx, however the PDF converter does not support this so whatever the value you select for cropping, the images always get squashed.
This is mainly an issue when used with an import tag to dynamically import an image; at that point we don't know what the exact aspect ratio will be, but we do want to make sure it…
1 voteHello Reporter,
Similar functionality to what you described was implemented in our 16.3.0 release. There are now image-crop tag settings that can allow you to do crop fill and crop fit for images at output. This setting will work to PDF output as well. Thank you for your idea, and please submit any other suggestions you have to improve our products.

Can we have a table type variable so as to avoid repeat SQL calls?
Our developers indicated it would be very useful to have a table type variable or something similar (e.g. structure or user defined type) to store SQL statement results and so avoid repeated calls to the database.

Allow manual entries into the Chart Tag legend
The chart tag at the moment only detects values within the data source, causing inconsistencies between values/color (e.g. risk levels) across multiples of the same report.
It would be great to include the functionality to manually add entries to the Chart Tag legend. This would allow consistency creating reports that require uniformity in values and colors.

Ability to Embed Files in Word Templates
I would like to see the ability to embed a file into a template. The file should not be merged with the template, but simply embedded as a file that could be opened and viewed at a later time.
The parameters for the embedding should have the ability to specify the location of the file from a data source, OR given specified location manually provided.

Custom OrderBy criteria.
The capability to define custom OrderBy rules. We have properties we would like to order by, and these properties return string values that we would like to order by in a non-alphabetical fashion.
Example orderby: (Critical, High, Medium, Low, Info)
Workaround right now is to change the return type of the property to int and keep track of a mapping between the int and the original string.
