  1. Information Tag

    Good morning,

    I believe it would be useful to have a new tag, that does not affect the output you generate, but that can be used to store information within your document. It would only contain a free text field wherein you can type 'whatever you want'. Would be useful for a work in progress ( storing notes), but also when a document is finished, to describe the process for when another user has to do adaptations to a file. I know it is technically possible to use a set tag for this, but I would consider it less confusing…

  3. Font Awesome

    Hi Windward team!

    Windward does fully not support printing of Front Awesome: it does support it when running from the Designer and selecting the output = Word, but it does not support it when using html or pdf output. Your support team indicated that "the script and <i> class html elements required by Font Awesome are not supported currently by Windward html".
    The proposed workaround is get the images in a browser or copied elsewhere, screenshot them, and then bring in those images in an Import or Out tag.

    However, handling of images is very fiddly in Windward as it…

  4. Add the ability to specify a HTML border with the CSS "shorthand"

    This ability should allow a border to be defined as:

    border: 5px solid red;

    Instead of only defining the border as:

    border-width: 5px;
    border-style: solid;
    border-color: red;

  5. Add class HTML attribute to all HTML tags.

    The documentation at https://ohana.windwardstudios.com/m/76878/l/899627-html-and-css-tags-and-attributes-supported-by-out-tags notes that the class html attribute is only valid for the p tag. I would request that the class attribute be valid for all supported tags. This would allow me to provide easier default styling to all tags instead of having to ensure all tags of a type have a default set of style attributes.

  6. Allow windward to distinguish between duplicate tables with different schema names on same postgres database

    Postgres databases does not limit a users ability view table and column names based on user access rights (read for detail: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20201436/how-to-restrict-access-to-schemas/20202163#20202163)

    When valid duplicate table names (different schemas) exist then windward data bin places all of the fields from the duplicate tables into one table, sometimes resulting in duplicate field names or adding in fields that don't exist.

    We can work around it by editing the xml but this is counterproductive as our database is continually changing after every release.

    Please adjust windward so that schemas are used to differentiate between duplicate table names.

    We tried to duplicate this issue and were not able to. In all of our tests Windward used the schema.table.column notation, not table.column.

    If you can provide an example of this issue, that would be a bug (not a feature request) and we will fix it immediately.

  14. Currently windward supports ToC(Table of Contents) in docx file but not ToF(Table of Figures)

    Generating docx report using windward updates/supports only ToC not ToF(Table of Figures). This is a much needed feature when dynamically generating reports as a word file. It would be great if this feature is added to windward.

  16. Encrypt PDF Output in Windward Solo

    I am a new Windward Solo user. We love what we are seeing; we need to deliver individual PDF documents which are password protected via email. It's confidential financial info. We will have the password in the batch select query. The recipient will know the password as we will describe in the email body text. In working with Kelly (your support), we came up with the idea of adding a check box next to PDF when selected as an output option, then having a field where a field can be selected from the batch select (plus perhaps the ability to…

  17. Odata: queried data of a forEach loop is stored in a dataset accessible later during output generation

    As you probably know, data source queries take its time and OData queries are extremely slow.
    To speed up output generation, I want to limit data source access as much as possible:
    Often I have to iterate multiple times through the same amount of data by use of a forEach tag.
    At present it is the case that I have to query the data source for each forEach loop.

    From my point of view it would be an advantage if the queried data of a forEach loop is (optionally) stored in a dataset accessible at different positions in the template…

  18. Display header/footer with Out tag templates

    When using an Out tag as a BASE64_TEMPLATE type, the header and footer from a docx used as the template is not displayed on the generated output document.

    Import tags support this functionality, but we would really like to use Out tags for performance.

    Hello Reporter,

    This idea has been reviewed but declined for development. The reason is that we don’t expect implementing this functionality for the Out tag to result in performance increases. Storing these files on a fast file server is more likely to improve the performance of the template. This is our suggestion for improving the performance of this use case. Thank you for your suggestion and please submit any other ideas you have to improve our software.

  19. OData: build queries by use of OData expands

    The Data Bin presents the entities with its navigation properties (expand). Would be great to use the tag editor and the wizard to create queries with filters using odata expands.

  20. Consistent color for series in chart - Basic Functionality

    Hi Team,
    We are creating chart for lot of Reports, but there is no way that we can provide consistent color for a particular series. For example For [High] color always should be red, irrespective of the number of series is available. When we have full series data color is coming fine but when full set of data is not there colors are picking like First N.

    Hello reporter,

    For this kind of functionality, we try to match as closely as possible what Microsoft Office does to provide a consistent experience. If the Windward functionality is deviating from the Microsoft Office functionality, please submit a bug with our support team. Thank you for your suggestion, and please submit any other ideas you have to improve our products.
