  1. Converting text to a number before sorting

    Currently the only way to cast a value to an integer is through an out tag. If we have a text field that is a number we would like to convert it to numeric in the for each loop and then sort it numerically. For example if we have 01, 2, 3, 4, 05, 06 the current sort order comes out as 01, 05, 06, 2, 3, 4. We would need to convert these values to a number in the for each loop using NUMBERVALUE or CAST and then sort on these values. Currently we are only able to convert…

  2. Add support for Office table styles to Excel templates.

    Currently, Office default table styles are not supported in tables in Excel templates, and don't appear in output generated from those templates. Formatting tables in Excel templates is basic functionality expected by Excel users, and limits the formatting options available for output generated from Excel templates.

  3. Excel dropdown lists not rendered in generated output

    Would like Excel Drop-down Lists to be available in generated output. Currently available in Word templates that can be used in both Word and PDF output but not able to do this with an Excel template.

    I have added some dropdowns on Excel Windward Report and its working fine in base excel but when we are generating output file , dropdowns are not displaying. As per discussion with windward support team, Dropdowns are not feasible in windward.

    Kindly check and provide solution on dropdown feasibility.

  6. Make Conditional Formatting Rule Manager more user friendly.

    Dear Windward,

    Is it possible to make the option to define a condition on a tag more user friendly.

    A way to create a condition with a Condition Wizard (that let you select and compare nodes/variables/..) would be very helpfull.

    To select a color in the Format wizard, a color picker would also be very helpfull instead of entering hex values manually.

    This idea has been partially accepted. We have accepted to enable users to open the Condition Wizard from inside the Conditional Formatting Rule Manager. As for the color picker, I have entered a story in our backlog, but we will wait to see interest in this specifically before reviewing the idea again.   7. Output of Excel column auto-filters set in template

    Given that your report generator effectively generates rows of data (in Excel format), it would make sense that the ability to setup auto-filters and have them show up in the output be there as well.

    As it is now, all our customers who use the output generated from our templates have to manually go into each tab and turn on the column filters, as the filters we have setup in the templates to not make it to the output.

  8. I need better error handling

    Just been working for a couple of hours now, but I found error handling to be poor. Exceptions are thrown with no clear error messages. Documentation is missing (TagException seems bo no exist according to the knowledge base).

  9. referencing other worksheets in formulas in generated Excel reports

    When you write a formula in a template that references another cell on the same sheet, it increments the row number on each new row that is added by a foreach loop.
    It would be great if this worked the same way for formulas referencing other worksheets.

  10. Keyboard shortcuts

    Keyboard shortcuts would be very helpful...Like inserting Out tag, generate a document etc. Also possibility to customize own shortcuts.

  11. Allow Data Validation to propagate to the new document.

    Data Validation constrains the values of a cell to items in a predetermined range. This would allow selection lists to be populated by AutoTag select statements.

  12. Allow for dynamic drop down based on amount of returned rows

    Currently, when a drop down is created in a cell (static or dynamic) the drop down is removed when the report is generated.

    Either add a Windward drop down function (ideal), or support Excel generated drop downs.

    Another helpful addition to this would be to make the drop down options distinct (optional, chosen by user).

  13. Preserve page number formatting across different sections in Word (AutoTag)

    Currently in Autotag 12.5.37, when there are different sections in a Word Document that utilize different page number formats (e.g. i/ii/iii/iv/... and 1/2/3/4/...) and a document is generated from a data source, the formatting in the template does not come through and all page numbers default to the 1/2/3/4/... format, resulting in confusion for the reader.

    Allowing for this capability will make it easier for Autotag users to maintain a more refined template where readers can more easily identify the section that they are reading and reduces rework for Autotag users.
